The Way Your Nervous System Shapes Visibility, Selling and Sustainable Growth
Let’s start with a moment to arrive. As you settle down to read this blog, I want to invite you to take a moment to pause with a soft breath. Just one nourishing inhale and exhale.
What would it feel like if your breath could carry a quality of softness and nourishment into your being?
Let yourself arrive. Not just in your body, but in the fullness of your experience - so you can really be here. Because what I want to explore with you today touches everything: connection.
And I want to explore it in relationship with something else - something deeply healing when practiced regularly: gratitude. Embodied gratitude can be one of the most powerful doorways to connection.
Whether you’re holding space for others, growing your business, sitting across from a client, a friend, or a loved one - connection is what makes it real. It’s what makes it matter.
But true connection? That always begins within you.
My Own Disconnection and What It Taught Me
Over the last six months or so, I’ve felt a growing disconnection from the online world, particularly social media. An aversion, even a sense of disgust - from the noise, the hype, the performative positivity, and the lack of honesty that I was witnessing.
I know I’m not alone in this.
So many of us have felt that deep disconnection. We ask ourselves: Do I even want to be part of this anymore?
So I stepped away. I withdrew. And what I didn’t realise in the moment was that I was moving into an old, familiar strategy I know so well - avoidance. A strategy I learned as a child. When I can’t set clear boundaries or make sense of what’s happening, I withdraw and disappear within me.
And while stepping away offered space for reflection, it also brought up big questions. Was I just avoiding something hard - like marketing? Was I brushing up against an upper limit? Or was something deeper needing to be acknowledged?
The Gift of Listening Within
I am very kinesthetic, I feel everything through my body. So I turned to a practice I’ve come to trust over the years – practice called Focusing. Or as I like to call it: Embodied Listening. It’s something I teach in our trainings. A way of turning toward the felt sense with compassion, curiosity, and care.
What I discovered, after releasing all the grasping and external searching, was this:
Connection is the most important thing for me.
And my voice - and the work I do – really matters.
The kind of connection I value isn’t fast, shiny, or superficial. It’s not built on photoshoots in luxury locations. It’s the kind of connection that feels like a soft exhale. That feels safe enough to be yourself and to see others as they are. Rooted in presence and our shared human experience. In truth. In the soma, psyche, and soul.
Because when something feels off in those online spaces, our bodies know. My body was screaming and I couldn’t be part of what felt disconnected from my core values.
Reframing the Question
So the question became: not “Do I share?”
But “How can I share in a way that’s rooted in alignment, integrity, and truth?”
It always comes back to this: Where does connection begin?
And my answer is always: within yourself.
How do you listen to your body? How do you hold yourself in tenderness when things feel hard? How do you relate to your joy, your doubt, your pain, your imperfections – with curiosity and kindness?
Because the truth is, we all want to be seen. But we can’t keep abandoning ourselves and expect that to come from the outside. Especially not when things don’t go our way.
You are the only person you will live with for the rest of your life. Every part of you - your playful self, your critic, your inner child, your perfectionist - all of it longs to be acknowledged and loved.
A Practice of Embodied Gratitude
This is where gratitude becomes not just a practice - but a way of being.
Gratitude for your breath. Your body. The people who witness you and care about you. The lessons of your life – all the lovely and also the messy parts.
We so often focus on what we don’t have, what isn’t enough. But what if you focused on the abundance already here? Like having hot water, food in your fridge or roof over your head, and the money that paid for it. Or the work you care about. Or your own body that breathes.
And from that place of embodied appreciation, you can open to more - not from lack, but from flow and the knowing that you are already enough.
Returning to What Matters
This shift changed how I relate to social media. It helped me reconnect with the real purpose of my voice in those spaces: to share this work, to offer another way, and to invite those who are ready to walk this path too.
When I sit in our training spaces and witness women arriving – often tired, unsure or guarded - and then experiencing softening, connecting and sharing with others, and growing together… I remember why I do this work. I remember that it’s not about algorithms or perfect posts. It’s about people. About presence. About healing.
I’ve heard over and over again from participants:
"I didn’t know I needed this… and now I don’t want to let it go."
"It all makes sense now."
And in those moments, my heart melts. I come back to what’s true.
This work is powerful. This connection is healing.
A gentle invitation to play
If any part of this resonates with you, I invite you to join me in an experiment. A simple daily practice of connection and embodied gratitude - for 30, 60, or even 90 days.
Let it be real. Let it include everything - your joy and your challenges. Your pleasure and your pain. Your whole of you and your lived experience.
Because life is too precious to feel constantly disconnected, overwhelmed, or like you're not enough.
You deserve to feel connected, supported, and at home in yourself.
You deserve joy, peace, and prosperity - not because you earned it through your hard work - but because you’re human. And that is enough.
Thank you for reading this blog and for being part of this work.
Take a breath, and remember: the connection you long for begins with you.
